Bob Palka – President
B.S. Engineering – Penn State University (1985)
MBA Operations – University of Buffalo (1997)
For the first 19 years of Bob’s career, he learned some valuable lessons about business. Bob’s philosophy on business is simple. “Business is not about making money, increasing revenue or cutting costs. Business is about one thing: creating value for customers and doing it better than anyone else on the globe. Once you stop increasing that value, you are on your way out of business”. After gaining extensive experience in manufacturing, quality engineering and design from some of the most respected companies in the world, Bob acquired the Jacobs Ladder patent and manufacturing equipment in July of 2004. Bob’s background as an All-America athlete at Penn State University drew him to the uniqueness of the Jacobs Ladder design and functionality. Bob kids,” After trying the Jacobs Ladder out at a local university, I knew I had to have one.
They weren’t making them anymore, so the only way was to buy the company!”. Just prior to the acquisition of the company, Bob suffered two herniated discs in his lower back. After an extensive physical therapy program that included Jacobs Ladder, Bob was able to rehabilitate his back to avoid surgery and continue his active lifestyle. “At this point, I knew we had a product that the world needed. The challenge was to bring Jacobs Ladder to the world.”
Since then, Bob has created a team that has made improvements in design to make Jacobs Ladder more reliable, self-powered, more user-friendly and quieter. Jacobs Ladder LLC continues to make improvements in all of the value that they offer the customer, from sales order processing to delivery and service.
